About the role

  • Our Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) team is looking for an innovative and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Associate Software Engineer with an emphasis on Linux backend development.
  • About Our Team We're a team of professional software engineers dedicated to making electric power safer, more reliable, and more economical through automation, control, and monitoring.
  • Our group is looking for someone who is excited about backend development on Linux, using C, C++, C#, and Bash, and who is interested in solving real world problems in the growing market of electric power.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in object-oriented languages (e.g., C++, C#, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience in Linux.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Nice to have

  • 1-3 years software development experience.
  • Familiarity with Git, CMake, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.

Compensation

  • Data - $84,200 - $112,300 annually
  • We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
  • Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
  • Associate Software Engineer: $84,200 - $112,300
  • Software Engineer: $97,700 - $130,300
  • Lead Software Engineer: $115,300 - $153,700
