About the role

This is a hands-on experience, which will allow you to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world setting and contribute to the systems and infrastructure that keep a fast-paced defense technology company running.
This internship is ideal for students pursuing information technology, computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, or a related field, and eager to make an impact in the defense tech industry.

Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and mobile devices
Perform routine system maintenance, including software updates, security patches, and backups
Document and track support tickets using a helpdesk management system, ensuring resolutions are well-documented
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging IT trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions
Collaborate with senior IT staff on complex technical projects, migrations, and system upgrades

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field
Basic ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, with comfort in at least one operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux)
Excellent communication with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and an ability to prioritize tasks
A great customer experience mindset
Exposure to endpoint or device management (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Jamf, SCCM) is a plus
Familiarity with identity and directory services (Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta) is a plus

Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is a plus
Exposure to security best practices, including data protection and access control
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
This role requires full-time in office presence (40 hours/week) based at our headquarters in Austin, TX, from August through December
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Occasional standing and walking within the office
Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
