About the role

Together, our parents, educators, leaders, and students are working to transform educational opportunities for underserved communities across the country.
Serving communities on Milwaukee's Northside and Southside, the Family Recruiter will act as a visible and enthusiastic representative of Rocketship.
This is a full time, field-based, and results-oriented position.

Build relationships with community organizations, local businesses, family-focused programs, and other potential referral partners.
Represent Rocketship professionally and positively in all interactions with families and community partners.
Family Recruitment and Enrollment Support
Maintain consistent communication with prospective families throughout the recruitment and enrollment process.
Partner with school-based teams and Office Managers to support a smooth transition once a family begins the enrollment process.
Accurately document family contacts, outreach activities, follow-up efforts, and enrollment progress in designated systems or tracking tools.
Meet established expectations for outreach activity, family engagement, lead generation, and enrollment support.
Maintain accurate records and protect the confidentiality of student and family information.
Support enrollment initiatives for both new and existing Rocketship schools.
Perform other recruitment and community engagement responsibilities aligned with regional enrollment priorities.

Ability to communicate information clearly, professionally, and enthusiastically.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently complete required follow-up.
Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to team goals and expectations.
Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems and applications.
Ability to travel throughout designated Milwaukee recruitment areas.
Required Qualifications
Commitment to Rocketship's mission and belief that all students can achieve academic success.
Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and customer service skills.
Outgoing and comfortable initiating conversations with families and community members in public settings.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with school teams, regional staff, families, and community partners.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including evenings and weekends based on community events and recruitment needs.

Previous experience in community outreach, family engagement, customer service, recruiting, student enrollment, sales, marketing, or a related field.
Familiarity with Milwaukee neighborhoods and community organizations.
Experience working with families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Spanish-speaking or other multilingual ability.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate with adults and children, use a computer or mobile device, and remain mobile for community outreach activities.
The employee may be required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods

Hourly position with a pay range of $20.00 to $25.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
