Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of the engine testing, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting procedures in accordance with Standard Work, appropriate technical references, Repair Station Manuals, and GE policies and procedures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including EHS, quality, engineering, planning, and materials to support operational initiatives, achieve strategic business objectives, and support constant improvement site-wide.
  • Document all work performed and book time using the site's ERP software.
  • The On Wing Support Test Technician will be responsible for performing shipping & receiving, prepping, de-prepping, inspection, and testing of aircraft engines in accordance with Standard Work and all applicable technical references.
  • GE Aerospace's On Wing Support test facility in Pittsburgh, PA is a full-service provider with the regulatory certification and OEM engineering support to test GE / CFM commercial engines.

  • Military backgrounds in aviation propulsion, aircraft maintenance, powerplant systems, or flightline support align with this role, particularly those with experience in engine removal and installation and test operations.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of mechanical experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Proven leadership experience leading initiatives of moderate scope and impact
  • Knowledge of borescope inspection
  • shift patterns as required including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation

  • Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
