About the role
- Sony Pictures Imageworks is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations.
- Managing complex scene dependencies across multiple departments.
- Familiarity with automated publishing, data validation, and efficient scene organization techniques is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Creates, develops, and refines all technical aspects of the animation production pipeline.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Maya and Python programming.
- Experience creating user interfaces with PyQt/PySide.
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Most desired: 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate, however a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
- Experience working on CG and VFX productions.
- Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on work in progress, dailies, briefings/notes, and feedback.
- Understanding of the git version control system.
- Familiarity with Katana, Unreal, Houdini, and/or USD is a plus.
- Extra Qualifications:
- Unreal Engine:
- Understanding of Unreal scene management, sequencer-based operations, data exchange between DCCs (Maya/Unreal), and experience supporting visualization workflows within Unreal. Knowledge of USD-based integration, Blueprint scripting within Unreal environments is a strong plus.
- The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $25.96 to $34.62/hr and for an Intermediate position is $36.06- 48.08/hr. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
