About the role

  • Work in a safe, accident-free manner at all times (5S/6S environment).
  • Operate Mac and PC computers, running Adobe Creative Suite applications and other graphic programs to produce complex, multiple-color jobs.
  • Make project layouts for all plate types including Web, Sheetfed, Diecutting, Flexo, Intaglio, and Dry offset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain film and CTP image-setters and processors.
  • Operate and maintain all laser and inkjet proofers.
  • Maintain accurate records of file versions in accordance with naming conventions and follow Standard Operating Procedures and training standards
  • Perform other work as assigned by the department manager

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the position with reasonable accommodation, if required.
  • Knowledge of computer-to-plate (CTP) workflows, file management systems and similar technologies.
  • Highly detail and quality-oriented and ability to understand intricacies of file creation as it relates to the successful file output.

  • Must have excellent visual acuity and colour recognition.
  • Must be able to keyboard, handle, and feel materials such as plates, paper, etc.
  • Support other departments with in-house graphics need as required.
  • Assist Customer Service with the development of job jackets and related documentation as required.
  • Bachelors' Degree (B.A.) and 0-1 year experience or Associate's degree (A.A./A.A.S.) and 2-4 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient with Adobe CS6/CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro), and other Mac-based graphics applications.
  • Experienced user of workflow software such as Fuji XMF, Screen Trueflow, AGFA Apogee, or similar applications
  • Creative/design abilities
