About the role

Reporting directly to the C3 Supervisor or Director of Care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care.
The HCA, also known as a Nursing Attendant (NA), provides direct care to assist the activities of daily living, observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status.
The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the appropriate interdisciplinary team-Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Allied Health (PT/OT/TA/SW).

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
Active and current registration with CLHA required.
Driver's license required.
Responsible for other related duties as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
Strong preferences for applicants who have interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to implement recreation programs.
Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
Program specific training/experience is an asset.
