About the role

  • As a Lifeguard at Crane Beach, you are on duty daily from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day.
  • Specifically, you'll: Provide a supervised and safe swimming area within the guarded section of the beach.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty for Lifeguard Team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all safety equipment, vehicles and supplies.
  • As a Lead Guard, you will manage a team of Seasonal Lifeguards to provide a safe environment to the patrons at Crane Beach, both in the water and out.

Requirements

  • Ability to run one mile in a sandy environment.
  • Ability to swim one-quarter mile in ocean conditions (this might include rough water and/or seasonably cold water).
  • Eligibility Criteria: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in variable outdoor weather and water conditions throughout the summer.
  • Must be able to assist with putting a boat into and out of an ocean surf.
  • Some light lifting may be required.
  • Driving an ATV or Gator may be required at times.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
