About the role

  • Key Job Responsibilities: - Assist in managing financial activities across SEMSS departments.
  • In instances where the Search and Screen Committee is unable to ascertain from the candidates' application materials whether they meet any of the qualifications, they may be evaluated as not meeting such qualifications.
  • Finalist candidates(s) will be asked to provide three professional/supervisor references through an external reference checking tool.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing financial activities across SEMSS departments. Serve as the Lead Worker for SEMSS financial staff and department clients.
  • Support procurement and travel processes.
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for financial systems.
  • The Division of Strategic Enrollment Management & Student Success (SEMSS) takes a holistic approach to support students throughout all stages of the enrollment lifecycle, from prospective students, transfer students, and continuing students to our graduates and alumni.
  • The SEMSS team is a reliable and active partner on campus, in Milwaukee, and across Wisconsin.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, budgeting, or accounting.
  • Experience in financial reporting and data analysis.

  • Required Qualifications:

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience with grant and gift fund management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., MS Excel, Workday, PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Experience with university procurement and travel systems.
  • Experience advising or training staff on financial systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, as evidenced by application materials and interview(s).
  • Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods, attend meetings across campus, and occasionally lift and carry financial documents or equipment.

Compensation

  • $75,000 - $90,000 (Final salary offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience)
