About the role

  • Includes but not limited to testing and repairing motors, testing and rebuilding breakers (6900 volts to 48 volts), reading and troubleshooting from electrical points and working with local and remote circuits
  • This equipment includes motors, alternators, breakers, generators, burner management, battery systems, communication, valve actuators, and various other devices.
  • Key Roles & Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Prefer 48 months experience in electrical maintenance (Power Plant experience)
  • Possess a working knowledge of mathematics and physics
  • Possess patience and ability to exercise care when working with small and precision parts
  • Ability to use all hand tools and other various tools
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry heavy loads
  • Ability to work in areas involving heights, enclosed spaces, and near or above water
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime, and the ability to work shift work
  • Minimum three years experience working as an Electrician in a related industry. Prefer 48 months experience in electrical maintenance (Power Plant experience)
  • MUST successfully complete/pass POSS/MASS aptitude test. (All communication regarding the scheduling for this test will be sent to candidates personal email that is provided during application process.)
  • High School education or GED equivalent
  • Must possess basic computer skills needed to perform job functions as needed in a computer based maintenance system.
  • Good Communication skills, both written and verbal

Skills

  • Understands basic AC/DC Circuit Theory, Digital and Analog Circuit Theory, Power Plant Cycle Theory, and Mechanics.
  • Properly conducts low, medium, and high voltage switching, clearing and grounding activities for all plant auxiliary equipment.
  • Locates, analyzes and corrects malfunctions of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Assists in the keeping of records on electrical and electronic equipment, including inspections and overhaul reports.
  • Makes effective use of the maintenance planning tools.
  • Complies with safety regulations established by regulatory agencies, the Safety Handbook and supervision.
  • Complies with environmental regulations established by regulatory agencies, Company policy and supervision
