About the role

  • At Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Government, our philosophy for care is based on wester medicine provided through an Indigenous lens to benefit the patients predominantly of the hitac̓u community.
  • This is a 6 month term position with possibility of extension.
  • Helping patients understand healthcare protocol and with other daily hygiene activities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains confidentiality on all matters relating to the affairs of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position.
  • Clinical experience in a First Nation setting would be a strong asset.

  • Education and Experience
  • Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized program.
  • Current LPN licensed and member in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Successful completion of (or willing to complete) the BCCDC Immunization Competency Course.
  • Foot care certification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Up-to-date immunizations and clear TB Test.
  • Satisfactory criminal records check (vulnerable sector).
  • Current Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and access to
  • Enjoys working with individuals and families and contributing to their health and wellness.
