About the role
- Working side by side with highly skilled educators, you will provide individualized and small-group interventions, assist with behavior management, and help foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support with campus-wide activities such as lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal to ensure student safety
- Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and provide social-emotional support to students as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement, respect, and independence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and successful completion of the paraprofessional exam, OR Associate's degree (or higher).

- Prepare instructional materials, set up classroom resources, and assist with documentation and data collection related to student progress.

Compensation
- Starting at $15.50-$17.00 per hour, DOE
Benefits
- Support lead and special education teachers in delivering instruction by assisting with lesson activities, classroom management, and transitions.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with disabilities to reinforce skills, reteach concepts, and support individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Substitute for lead teachers when necessary to ensure learning continues uninterrupted.
- Previous Special Education Paraprofessional experience (required).
- Passion for working with students in diverse, underserved communities and with special learning needs.
