About the role

  • This role is based full-time in our office in San Diego, Ca.

Responsibilities

  • The External Communications Specialist helps position SOLV Energy as a leading energy infrastructure services provider through strategic storytelling, media relations support, thought leadership content, and industry engagement.
  • This role proactively identifies and develops opportunities to showcase SOLV Energy's people, projects, expertise, and impact while building relationships across the business to surface compelling stories and strengthen the company's reputation among key external audiences.
  • Draft and coordinate external communications materials, including press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, talking points, and briefing documents.
  • Support media outreach efforts, interview preparation, and relationship-building with industry media and other external stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and create content that highlights SOLV Energy's people, projects, innovations, partnerships, and industry expertise.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal subject matter experts, project teams, and business leaders to identify emerging stories, innovations, and communications opportunities.
  • Conduct research and interviews to gather information and develop compelling communications content.
  • Develop a variety of content, including thought leadership articles, project spotlights, and LinkedIn content.
  • Contribute ideas that support long-term storytelling, reputation-building, and business objectives.
  • Support executive visibility and thought leadership initiatives through research, messaging development, speaking materials, and event communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, content marketing, media relations, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Compensation

  • $87,095.00 - $104,514.00
  • SOLV Energy will not pay a placement fee to any third-party recruiter or agency that has not coordinated their recruiting activity with the appropriate member of our internal talent acquisition team.
