About the role

  • As our Engineering Technician, you will work closely with our engineers and senior metallurgists to ensure high-quality, timely results for clients in aerospace, medical, automotive, and energy industries.
  • Location: Lansing, NY Hourly rate: $23-$26/hour Please note that the hourly rate range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in NY.
  • Criteria such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.

Responsibilities

  • This role involves hands-on testing, data collection, and technical support for metallurgical evaluations, including failure analysis, and material characterization.
  • Perform all work in accordance with safe and proper procedures.
  • Exhibit & maintain a high level of metallurgical skills and knowledge of material science.
  • Maintain professional visibility through involvement in professional societies and publication in technical journals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a materials testing or engineering lab environment.
  • Familiarity with metallurgical testing techniques and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently or in a team.
  • Conduct high quality metallurgical testing evaluations demonstrating proficiency in utilization of a variety of techniques.
  • Associate's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field preferred. Relevant on-the-job training and equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Compensation

  • $23k-$26k
