About the role

As our Engineering Technician, you will work closely with our engineers and senior metallurgists to ensure high-quality, timely results for clients in aerospace, medical, automotive, and energy industries.
Location: Lansing, NY Hourly rate: $23-$26/hour Please note that the hourly rate range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in NY.
Criteria such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.

Responsibilities

This role involves hands-on testing, data collection, and technical support for metallurgical evaluations, including failure analysis, and material characterization.
Perform all work in accordance with safe and proper procedures.
Exhibit & maintain a high level of metallurgical skills and knowledge of material science.
Maintain professional visibility through involvement in professional societies and publication in technical journals.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in a materials testing or engineering lab environment.
Familiarity with metallurgical testing techniques and equipment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems.
Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently or in a team.
Conduct high quality metallurgical testing evaluations demonstrating proficiency in utilization of a variety of techniques.
Associate's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field preferred. Relevant on-the-job training and equivalent experience will be considered.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
