About the role

  • The Department of Physics within the College of Science at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks applications for a Coordinator, Student Recruitment and Training position.
  • The Coordinator will help cultivate an engaging and supportive research environment while promoting student success, workforce development, and career readiness aligned with the institute's mission areas.

Responsibilities

  • The position will support the growth and development of the Applied Sciences Institute for National Security (ASI), located at the SAGE facility in Stead.
  • This position serves as a key liaison between faculty, researchers, students, university offices, and external partners to build a strong pipeline of talented students prepared to contribute to cutting-edge research programs.
  • The incumbent will develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders to advance grant deliverables and workforce development goals
  • develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract undergraduate and graduate student researchers
  • and manage social media accounts and website to highlight student achievements, research experiences, career outcomes and events.
  • Mountain EAP supports employees (and eligible dependents) through life's difficult moments. Mountain EAP is located in Reno and specializes in counseling and advising services for personal or interpersonal issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR
  • Master's degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
  • Occasional travel required and weekends for recruitment events
