About the role
- The Government and External Affairs Associate will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their supervisor, the
- Vice President of Government & External Affairs:
- Track government grants, contracts, awards, payments, deliverables, and reporting deadlines while maintaining accurate reports, records, calendars, and compliance documentation.
Responsibilities
- BRIC builds Brooklyn's creative future.
- Coordinate and manage meetings, communications, and relationship management with elected officials, government agencies, community boards, and external partners.
- Support and coordinate government relations, advocacy campaigns, legislative visits, civic engagement initiatives, public events, and elected official participation in BRIC programs,
- Engage with and support the Chief Revenue Officer and BRIC's Executive Team as needed and as directed

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2-3 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, advocacy, or related nonprofit or civic sector work.
- Strong understanding of NYC and NYS government and legislative processes.
- Commitment to BRIC's mission and values, including equity, access, and artistic innovation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines, and effectively communicate and articulate KPIs
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
- An emotionally intelligent, values, and results-driven team player who can collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization.
- An excellent communi cator who prioritizes community partnerships, audience engagement, and guest services.
- Commitment to Equity & Inclusion:
- Brings experience operationalizing equity within this role.
Nice to have
- Event production and/or media-savvy experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Salesforce preferred, and relevant CRM experience a must
Compensation
- The annual salary range for this position is $50K - $60K
