About the role

Note: Vanguard Marketing Corporation (VMC).
VMC is a Vanguard legal entity which is a registered broker-dealer and provides brokerage services as a self-clearing broker-dealer under the name Vanguard Brokerage Services.
VMC also provides marketing and distribution services for the Vanguard funds.

Creates quarterly financial statements and prepares a quarterly certification package consisting of full financials, footnotes, and executive summaries of the balance sheet and income statement.
Identifies and manages risk pertaining to accounting and regulatory reporting functions.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
You'll play a key role in safeguarding client assets, supporting critical reporting to FINRA and the SEC, partnering with senior business leaders, and contributing to audits and strategic initiatives that help maintain Vanguard's reputation for trust and operational excellence.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an early-career finance or accounting professional who is looking to build deep expertise in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and broker-dealer operations while developing relationships across a broad network of business partners.

Ability to work effectively and independently.
Working knowledge of financial and operational controls.
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Compiling and organizes all required supporting documentation.
Undergraduate degree (in accounting or finance preferred). CPA or MBA preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
Excellent computer skills including accounting software, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners and clients.

Undergraduate degree (in accounting or finance preferred).
CPA or MBA preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience.
One to two years' general experience in an accounting and financial reporting environment preferred.

Supports external audit team (PwC) during the annual financial statement audit.
Provides support during annual regulatory audits with FINRA and the SEC. This position Works closely with Compliance, Legal, and other business partners to respond timely and accurately to all exam requests within tight deadlines.
