About the role

  • As our new Class II/III Construction Inspector, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
  • Role In this position you will be responsible for overseeing a roadway reconstruction project in York, Maine.
  • Your work will help ensure that oversight is consistent with MDOT procedures and process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct measurements and documentation of construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Perform basic material testing activities and supplying results for internal and external purposes. Testing may include Hot Mix Asphalt, Portland Cement Concrete and soils/aggregates
  • Review Contract Documents
  • Develop and maintain project records throughout construction
  • Monitor, manage and execute necessary material testing

Requirements

  • Ability to handle typical Chief/Resident inspector duties
  • NETTCP certification with paving experience is required with additional certifications desirable (ACI, Precast Concrete, etc.)
  • Work beyond eight hours per day and beyond 40 hours per week may be required.

Nice to have

  • Prior state inspection experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Maine DOT construction specifications and documentation preferred
