About the role
- As our new Class II/III Construction Inspector, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
- Role In this position you will be responsible for overseeing a roadway reconstruction project in York, Maine.
- Your work will help ensure that oversight is consistent with MDOT procedures and process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct measurements and documentation of construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Perform basic material testing activities and supplying results for internal and external purposes. Testing may include Hot Mix Asphalt, Portland Cement Concrete and soils/aggregates
- Review Contract Documents
- Develop and maintain project records throughout construction
- Monitor, manage and execute necessary material testing
Requirements
- Ability to handle typical Chief/Resident inspector duties
- NETTCP certification with paving experience is required with additional certifications desirable (ACI, Precast Concrete, etc.)
- Work beyond eight hours per day and beyond 40 hours per week may be required.

- Work may involve working nights, weekends and holidays
Nice to have
- Prior state inspection experience preferred
- Familiarity with Maine DOT construction specifications and documentation preferred
