About the role
- Partner with the Operations Controller, operations team, and finance team for a $400M global industrial operation to drive positive financial performance. This position will be responsible for developing product costing for our extruded product lines, analyzing production variances, and providing data to make fact-based, value-add decisions throughout the
- organization. This is not just a cost accounting position; it is a financial partner and is expected to challenge business partners and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive product costing models and allocations, ensuring they accurately reflect all cost components, including materials, labor, overhead, and other relevant expenses.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of costs to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Support the operations team to develop and execute action plans.
- Analyze production variances, develop root cause, and support the operations team with mitigating actions.
- Develop, capture, and analyze operational metrics to identify trends, support strategic changes and improve the company's financial performance.
- Provide value-added, fact-based analytics through the interpretation of financial results. Drive improved decision making through insightful analysis and strong relationships with key operations personnel.
- Support with the preparation of weekly, monthly and yearly financial reports.
- Coordinate with and support of external and internal auditors.
- Ability to plan time, manage reporting deadlines, and multi-task.

Requirements
- Required Skills/Abilities:
Nice to have
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred.
- Five (5) + years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with standard cost.
- Experience with lean manufacturing practices.
- SAP experience a plus.
- Power BI or other automation tools a plus.
Skills
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Excel (i. e. data analysis, pivot tables etc.).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Reliable, flexible and self-motivated.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
Compensation
- $75,000 - $95,500 Per Year + Bonus
