About the role
- Tomorrow.io's Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF-based sensing systems, such as radar, from architecture through implementation.
- These products will have a direct impact on Tomorrow.io's space program, radar products, and overall strategic positioning in the market.
- As a contributor within the Space and Sensors software team, you will play a critical role in the execution of complex, multidisciplinary system development programs.
Responsibilities
- Build and Operate Automated Verification Systems
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks in Python to validate complex C++ software and firmware systems, enabling scalable verification of mission-critical radar and sensor software.
- Enable Reliable Software Builds and Releases
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions that build, test, and validate software using C++ build systems (CMake/QMake), and support software development workflows through Jira integration and Git-based source control practices (branching strategies, pull requests, and release baselines) to ensure reliable, reproducible software releases.
- Develop Test Infrastructure and Continuous Validation Pipelines
- Partner with Software and Firmware Teams to Improve System Quality
- Collaborate closely with software and firmware engineers to support build systems, integrate automated testing into development workflows, participate in design and code reviews, and provide actionable feedback through automated test results and quality metrics.
- The team is also responsible for the development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of Tomorrow.io's Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.

Requirements
- Hardware / embedded system testing experience
- Accordingly, this position is restricted to U.S. citizens, permanent residents and protected individuals unless and until any required licenses are obtained.
- Tomorrow.io participates in the E-Verify program in all US states, as required by law.
- Python and test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest)
- Strong Git experience (branching strategies, pull requests, rebasing, repository management)
- Design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Build systems and build automation (e.g., CMake, QMake) including cross-platform build management
- Bash scripting and strong familiarity with Linux command-line tools (e.g., ssh, ping, system utilities)
