About the role

  • With offices in San Francisco and Bengaluru, Instabase is a truly global company.
  • In this high-leverage role, you will be instrumental in defining, architecting, and evolving the core systems and platforms that underpin the entire Instabase product.
  • You will be responsible for tackling the most ambiguous, complex technical challenges on our multi-quarter roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of large-scale, distributed systems and infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud-native technologies).
  • Engineering Force Multiplier: Define and drive the technical strategy for internal platforms and systems that maximize the velocity, reliability, and observability of all engineering teams across the organization.
  • Product Thinking & System Design: You possess an aptitude for defining product requirements and user experience (UX) and are comfortable writing high-level design documents that define the technical future of Instabase.
  • Experience defining, building, and maintaining multi-platform applications, including React Native or other mobile technologies.
  • This customer-centric model allows Instabase to glean insights from diverse use cases and behaviors, ensuring we deliver top-tier solutions that provide unmatched advantages for everyday business operations.
  • This is a critical role for an exceptional "Product-minded Engineer." You will drive end-to-end technical strategy, from writing high-level design documents and translating Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) into architectural plans, to overseeing the development of highly-available frontend experiences, scalable services, and resilient infrastructure.
  • Define and drive the technical strategy for internal platforms and systems that maximize the velocity, reliability, and observability of all engineering teams across the organization.
  • You possess an aptitude for defining product requirements and user experience (UX) and are comfortable writing high-level design documents that define the technical future of Instabase.

Requirements

  • Expert proficiency in Go and Python, with a deep, pragmatic understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and building highly-scalable APIs.
  • Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript) for architecting and optimizing complex, data-rich web applications with a focus on engineering efficiency.
  • Expert-level knowledge of distributed orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and significant experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Deep expertise in relational databases, specifically operational excellence with PostgresDB.
  • Backend Expertise: Expert proficiency in Go and Python, with a deep, pragmatic understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and building highly-scalable APIs.
  • Frontend Expertise: Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript) for architecting and optimizing complex, data-rich web applications with a focus on engineering efficiency.
  • Infrastructure & Orchestration: Expert-level knowledge of distributed orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and significant experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Compensation

  • The base salary range for this role is $237,500 to $255,000 + bonus, equity, and US benefits. The actual pay may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and skills.
