About the role

  • Pape-Dawson is seeking a full-time Transportation Project Engineer based in our Fort Myers office.
  • This role will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects with private and public clients throughout the state and southeast.

Responsibilities

  • Execute transportation design plans, studies, and analyses through project software
  • Horizontal and vertical geometric design
  • Stormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control/traffic control design
  • Support project managers in meeting project goals and providing quality deliverables

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of FDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation
  • Experience in development of roadway plans and specifications along with local municipalities and permitting agencies
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Florida PE license
  • Understanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTO
  • Review plans and specifications for constructability, standards compliance, and consistency with project goals.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of engineering experience with recent experience in transportation design preferred
