About the role
- This summer seasonal position is responsible for teaching beginning to advanced swimming lessons, using established lesson plans during scheduled sessions.
- Hours will vary based on candidate availability, department needs, and weather.
Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years of age with a Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or at least 16 years of age (no lifeguard certification required).
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Starting hourly rate for Recreation Instructor - Swim is $13.50 year one, $13.75 year two, and $14.00 year three.
Nice to have
- Experience working with kids is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills
- Knowledge of the 4 main swim strokes (Freestyle, back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly).
- Ability to create and follow lesson plans.
- Work includes maintaining a safe environment and tracking skills/progress.
Compensation
- Starting hourly rate for Recreation Instructor - Swim is $13.50 year one, $13.75 year two, and $14.00 year three. This is a seasonal position and there are no benefits.
