About the role

  • Monitors patients remotely via video monitor or at the bedside to ensure patient safety while under observation.
  • Provides continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients.
  • First line of action is to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains visual observation of patient at all times, either monitoring at the bedside within an arm's length of assigned patient or using video monitors in the virtual patient observation unit.
  • Maintains patient dignity and privacy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • rotating weekends and holidays required
  • Demonstrates understanding and proficiency of the use of the video monitoring software.
  • Hours: Nights (7p-7:30a); rotating weekends and holidays required
  • Required Travel: May float to inpatient units as a bedside patient safety observer

Nice to have

  • High School Required
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and remain attentive to patient.
  • Ability to react quickly in emergency situations, to give verbal redirection to patients and to alert nursing staff as needed.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communications.

Compensation

  • $17.05 - $23.85 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
