About the role
- Wolfspeed is looking for a Materials Product Manager, who will be primarily responsible for product management and technical marketing of Wolfspeed Materials.
Responsibilities
- Develop market requirement documents and product requirement documents with prioritized features, corresponding justification, target market applications and business plan support
- Champion internal development of new requirements to support customer demand and drive qualification of these products at the customer
- Manage product portfolios from market launch through obsolescence of all wafers
- Interface with R&D, NPI engineering, Production/Operations, and Quality to build and sustain the product lines
- Develop and define product roadmaps for existing and future product lines.
- Understand cost models to support product pricing strategies
- Ability to blend the technical and commercial to deliver a balanced approach to problems
- Lead technical presentations with customers on technical issues related to the products and applications
- Partner with the quality team to manage quality issues with customers and synchronize with internal organizational teams
Requirements
- Degree in Materials Science, Semiconductor Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degree
- 7-10 years of semiconductor product management, product engineering, product marketing and/or applications engineering
- Good general knowledge of both the sales and semiconductor product manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Comfort with in-person, high stakes meetings
- This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
Nice to have
- Preferred skills and certifications:
- Master's Degree in Materials Science, Semiconductor Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degree.
- PhD is preferred but not required
- SiC Crystal growth, Wafer level processes, SiC epitaxial process, GaN epitaxial process, Power and RF device fabrication and device understanding is a plus
Skills
- MBA is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of wide bandgap semiconductors
- Experience with new product launch and new business development
- Understanding and implementation of marketing approaches
- Understanding of basic semiconductor device technology
