About the role
- Manufacturing Engineer We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to assist with the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for our advanced propulsion systems.
- This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production aligned with aerospace standards.
Responsibilities
- With the first generational leap in rocket engine technology since Apollo, our proprietary Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine and Venus Detonation Ramjets deliver historic efficiency and performance across aerospace applications.
- Assess designs for
- Design tooling as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Work closely with design, engineering, test and analysis teams to integrate design specifications seamlessly into manufacturing workflows.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to source and qualify materials for specialized aerospace applications.
- Provide training and support to production personnel to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes.
- Design Optimization: Assess designs for DFMA: Check CAD models and drawings for tolerancing (GD&T) and manufacturability, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
- BOM Management: Validate MBOM structure to ensure correct assemblies, parts, and quantities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, test and analysis teams to integrate design specifications seamlessly into manufacturing workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years in manufacturing engineering, preferably within the aerospace sector, with a focus on propulsion systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA), experience with JIRA and Atlassian tools, CAM software and familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of AS9100 standards, ASME drawing standards, aerospace materials, and propulsion system components.
- Experience with Rotating Detonation Rocket Engines (RDRE) or similar advanced propulsion technologies.
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing and additive manufacturing techniques along with their application in aerospace component production.
