Responsibilities
- Write, edit, proofread, and review technical and academic documents.
- Support the development of multimedia content, web features, press releases, and newsletter articles.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and subject‑matter experts to gather information and translate it into clear, accessible written content.
- Maintain version control, documentation, and editorial workflows.
- NPS Extended Campus Support Services
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to support the Naval Postgraduate School's Extended Campus programs.
- This role focuses on producing high‑quality written materials-including technical documents, reports, publications, and communication products-that support academic, instructional, and institutional needs.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in technical writing, proofreading, editing, publication, review, and quality assurance.
- BA/BS degree in communications, journalism, English, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in technical or scientific writing.
- Demonstrated ability to independently research, write, and edit materials such as white papers, fact sheets, multimedia content, web features, press releases, and newsletter articles.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
- The ideal candidate brings strong writing, editing, and quality‑assurance experience, along with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced academic environment.
