About the role

Allocate is looking for an Accounting Manager to help manage the day-to-day accounting operations of a fast-growing fintech platform. This role owns the monthly close process, ensures the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, and partners closely with the Controller to strengthen accounting processes and controls as the company scales. This is an
individual contributor role with significant ownership and visibility into the finance function and is an exciting opportunity to build a world class accounting function from the ground up.

Own the end-to-end monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
Manage accounts payable process including vendor relationships as needed.
Partner with the Controller on process improvements, automation, and strengthening internal controls.
Partner closely with Controller on implementation of a new ERP for multiple entity structure.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in public accounting and/or a fast-paced startup or financial services environment.
Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
Experience with modern accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Intuit) and financial close/reconciliation tools.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and external auditors.

Prior experience in fintech, asset management, fund administration, or private markets is a plus.
