About the role
- Position Details - Academic Personnel & Faculty
- This position provides a faculty appointment at the rank of Teaching Associate in the Department of Surgery with an anticipated start date in Fall 2026.
- Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms.
Responsibilities
- Perform bedside ICU procedures including central line and arterial line placements, bronchoscopy, and point of care ultrasound
- 24/7 dedicated CTICU in-house intensivist support
- Successful candidates will be expected to support the department's commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community.
- The CTICU APP role promotes independent clinical practice within a highly collaborative and established team model and is well supported with dedicated 24/7 in-house CTICU intensivist support.

Requirements
- Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment

- Disclosure is required under Washington state law.
- Applicants for this position must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Current and valid WA State Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C.
- Nationally certified ARNP/PA and eligible for DEA.
- Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
- ACLS Certification
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge and command of basic personal computer skills

- extremely motivated new graduates with relevant critical care and cardiothoracic surgical training backgrounds may be considered for hire with an extended onboarding period
Compensation
- $10,326 - $15,391 per month commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
- $123,912.00 annual Pay Range Maximum:
