Responsibilities
- As a Security Engineer you will play a crucial role in building secure systems and implementing effective security measures.
- Implement, maintain, and improve software architecture to decrease Statsig's risk of security incidents.
- Deliver on key projects that enhance security operations by writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code.
- Develop and support software including applications, database integrations, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements.
- Support test and deployment of new products and features.
- Take a generalist approach to building security controls, balancing a mix of security expertise and broad technical skillsets to adapt to evolving challenges.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Security Engineering or Security-adjacent field.
- Understanding of common security practices, with the ability to identify and address security gaps or inefficiencies to protect company assets.
- Experience working within cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Ruby, Go, Rust, JavaScript) and comfortable reading and critically reviewing code in languages you may not have deep proficiency in.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to organize, prioritize, and work autonomously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
- You enjoy collaborative team work and excel at working with large-scale applications and frameworks.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred.
Compensation
- The base range for this position is $165,000 - $200,000 annually + equity. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as level, position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
