Responsibilities
- The Engineer l Electrical will support hardware-specific aspects of electrical design, electronic product development, and product performance testing
- Assist in the design of hardware (schematics & PCBAs) while providing ongoing support for technical component-related issues.
- Assist in performing product/prototype design verification tests to ensure compliance with applicable standards (UL/CSA, CE/EMC, FM, etc.) and product specifications.
- Assist in defining production systems test methodology and create test specification(s) and testing procedures for production validation automated test fixtures.
- Prepare hardware design specifications for release review by a Senior Engineer.
- Prepare product work instructions/process documents for review and assist in implementing engineering change requests.
- Provide basic product hardware support for sustaining engineering activities to other departments with oversight.
Requirements
- No previous experience required
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college
- Experience with Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) models, such as LTspice, QSpice, Pspice, used to simulate and analyze how electrical circuits behave.
- Basic understanding of end-to-end product-based electronics development with a specific focus on PCB hardware design and integration into both stand-alone circuits and embedded systems.
- Basic design knowledge and some experience in both analog and digital circuit design. Some basic sensing technology with its interfacing (magnetic, optics, etc.) is helpful.
- Basic understanding of working with embedded 8-bit/16-bit/ARM/etc. microcontrollers or microprocessors.
- Basic working knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout software, such as Altium, Eagle, PCAD, etc.
- Experience working with other company departments on occasion in technical support of products. (Preferred)

Nice to have
- Experience working with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers for troubleshooting PCBs and electronic products. (Preferred)
- Basic experience debugging and prototyping embedded systems (Preferred)
