About the role

The registered nurse utilizes delegation and critical‑thinking skills to provide quality service through a team‑oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.
Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Responsibilities: In the PACU setting, the RN is responsible for the immediate post‑operative care of patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical or procedural interventions.
Duties include continuous assessment and monitoring of airway patency, respiratory and cardiovascular status, level of consciousness, pain, and surgical sites.

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
Serves as a role model and supports development of peers and team members.
Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
Supports orientation and training of new employees.
Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.

Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
AHA BLS-HCP required.
Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
Occasional shifts from 0645-1915 may be required based on unit needs.

$33.52 - $50.28 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience.
The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
