  • Body Repair Technician – Job Description
  • The Body Repair Technician is responsible for performing high-quality structural and cosmetic repairs to vehicles following OEM procedures and shop standards. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and timely repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform teardown, structural repairs, metal straightening, panel replacement, and bodywork according to OEM repair guidelines.
  • Work closely with estimators, painters, and other technicians to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Document all repairs performed and communicate any supplemental damage to the estimator or production manager.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop safety protocols.
  • Perform final fit and finish checks before the vehicle moves to the paint or reassembly stage.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with OEM repair procedures and the use of repair-planning technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair plans, measurements, and technical documents.
  • I-CAR certifications (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs., and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
