About the role
- The NYISO's Interconnection Studies department invites applications for a full-time Planning Engineer.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a concentration in power systems preferred
Nice to have
- Prepares base cases to be used in interconnection studies.
- Evaluates and identifies any system upgrade facilities and/or system deliverability upgrades required for proposed projects and develops cost estimates for the identified upgrades.
- Prepares and/or reviews interconnection study reports and associated documentation.
- Participates and presents at stakeholder meetings as appropriate
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
- a concentration in power systems preferred
- 3+ years of experience in the areas of power system planning or design, especially planning or design of transmission system facilities preferred
- Experience with computer programs used in transmission planning or interconnection studies such as power flow, short circuit and/or transient stability
Skills
- Power Flow (Siemens PTI PSS/E & PowerGEM TARA)
- Steady State Analysis (PowerGEM TARA program or equivalent)
- Stability (primarily PSS/E)
- Short Circuit (primarily ASPEN)
Compensation
- $80,800 - $135,000 USD
