About the role
- For the first year this position will have at least 50% travel, after the first year this will be reduced to 25% - 30%.
- This position reports to the Director, Supply Chain Mgmt& Logistics.
Responsibilities
- Identify synergies in logistics between all product lines and implement action plans for achievement
- Develop strategic alliances with our road service providers where appropriate
- Partner with the Safety team to ensure vendors comply with relevant safety requirements
- Develop, implement and oversee a certification program for logistics suppliers
- Maintain awareness of all industry developments via key trade associations, government contacts, journals, seminars, conferences
- Develop a team to manage all aspects of aggregate road transportation services
- Implements OH&S Mission: Ensures alignment of OH&S activities arising from OpCo OH&S mission
- Identifies Hazards & Control Risks: Actively manages risks by ensuring that all related control activities are implemented thoroughly
- Manages Incidents: Drives committed and effective incident management
Requirements
- 3-5 year's logistics experience
- Minimum 1-3 experience in leadership positions/supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree
Skills
- Dump or pneumatic bulk tankers experience
- SAP efficiency
- Excellent management skills, both of self and others
- Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
- Good business and financial acumen
- Good coaching skills; able to effectively delegate responsibility
- Ability to adapt to change while maintaining customer focus
- Ability to interact with and gain commitment from all levels of the organization
- Ability to build and develop successful teams
- Proficient in Computer skills
- Required qualification:
- Road transportation experience (trucking)
