About the role

Outreach and promotion of the 4-H Community Club program, including expanding access to diverse youth and families
The 4-H Associate Educator is an integral member of the UW-Madison Division of Extension and works with youth, families, volunteers, schools, and community organizations to expand access to research-based positive youth development opportunities.
This position will initially serve Eau Claire County at a 40% appointment.

Procures and maintains course materials and supplies
Implements initiatives and events that serve the target audience
Communicate plans, activities and achievements to 4H Program Educator, Area Extension Director, Program Managers, partners and relevant stakeholders
Helps design marketing materials and promotions for programs
Helps build and sustain relationships with community partners
We teach, learn, lead and serve, transforming lives and communities.
Our research-based youth enrichment programs like teens in governance build youth and adult capacity that help both sides grow.
4-H clubs, camps and afterschool programs give young people the hands-on experiences they need to develop an understanding of themselves and the world.

Ability to teach interactive lessons to youth and adults in group settings
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with people from a wide range of back‐grounds and perspectives
At least two years of relevant work or volunteer experience in the area of youth programming.

Understanding of and experience with the Eau Claire County 4-H Program
Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high quality work
Ability to work cooperatively with other agencies and community-based organizations
Minimum Bachelors Degree

The minimum annual (12 months) starting Salary for the position is $47,290 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
This is a part-time position, which means actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full-time status).
At 40% FTE, the person hired can expect to receive 40% of the advertised salary.

Teaches culturally relevant educational programs to adults and youth using learner-centered activities and lessons
Extension embodies the Wisconsin Idea by developing and connecting the research and educational resources of UW-Madison with residents and communities to address local, statewide, and national issues.
