About the role

  • Outreach and promotion of the 4-H Community Club program, including expanding access to diverse youth and families
  • The 4-H Associate Educator is an integral member of the UW-Madison Division of Extension and works with youth, families, volunteers, schools, and community organizations to expand access to research-based positive youth development opportunities.
  • This position will initially serve Eau Claire County at a 40% appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Procures and maintains course materials and supplies
  • Implements initiatives and events that serve the target audience
  • Communicate plans, activities and achievements to 4H Program Educator, Area Extension Director, Program Managers, partners and relevant stakeholders
  • Helps design marketing materials and promotions for programs
  • Helps build and sustain relationships with community partners
  • We teach, learn, lead and serve, transforming lives and communities.
  • Our research-based youth enrichment programs like teens in governance build youth and adult capacity that help both sides grow.
  • 4-H clubs, camps and afterschool programs give young people the hands-on experiences they need to develop an understanding of themselves and the world.

Requirements

  • Ability to teach interactive lessons to youth and adults in group settings
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with people from a wide range of back‐grounds and perspectives
  • At least two years of relevant work or volunteer experience in the area of youth programming.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of and experience with the Eau Claire County 4-H Program
  • Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high quality work
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other agencies and community-based organizations
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree

Compensation

  • The minimum annual (12 months) starting Salary for the position is $47,290 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
  • This is a part-time position, which means actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full-time status).
  • At 40% FTE, the person hired can expect to receive 40% of the advertised salary.
