About the role

  • As a Traffic Control Person, you play an important role in ensuring traffic control management is completed according to applicable regulations, and to ensure everybody on or crossing a job site can do so safely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic traffic control set-ups and tear downs while adhering to the MTO Book 7 requirements to ensure safety of all stakeholders impacted by the site (crew members, motorists, pedestrians, etc.).

Requirements

  • Stop traffic whenever required by the progress of work or keep traffic moving at reduced speeds to avoid tie-ups and delays.
  • Must be available to work Monday to Friday between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • Must have a valid G Class driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Must have ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly, stand for extended periods, and work in various inclement weather conditions.
  • Must have strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Must have your own CSA Grade 1 (green label) work boots with a minimum 6-inch cuff and electrical shock resistance (white label with omega symbol).
  • Must be able to calmly troubleshoot issues and collaborate with a diverse group of people.
  • Must have a smartphone and be comfortable using it for work purposes with ability to learn new systems/apps.
