- Through assistance with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility, you'll help ensure each patient receives the care, comfort, and respect they deserve.

Responsibilities

- Optimal Care is building a talent pipeline of compassionate CNAs and STNAs for future Hospice Aide opportunities serving Mid-Michigan.
- Hospice Aides provide Hands-on, end-of-life care that supports patient comfort, dignity, and quality of life in homes and care facilities.
- As a Hospice Aide/Homemaker, you'll provide hands-on support that helps patients maintain their quality of life while remaining in the place they call home.
- You'll develop trusting relationships with patients and families while working closely with nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to support each patient's unique needs.
- Optimal Care is growing and proactively building our talent pipeline for future opportunities.
Requirements
- Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training
Nice to have
- Must be able to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively
- Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill in the home or facility
- Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Secure with issues of death/dying
- Provides a calm manner when in a patient's home
- Has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired

- $18k-$22k
