About the role

  • Civil Superintendent - East Kootenay Region Cranbrook, BC | Full-Time Milestone Contracting is establishing a long-term presence in the East Kootenay region and is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to join our growing team.
  • This role is based out of Cranbrook, BC, with projects located throughout the Kootenays.
  • This is more than a traditional Superintendent role.

Responsibilities

  • As Superintendent, you will lead the day-to-day field execution of civil construction projects including underground utilities, municipal infrastructure, grading, earthworks, roadworks, and site servicing projects.
  • Supporting and mentoring Foremen and developing field leaders
  • Building strong working relationships with clients, inspectors, consultants, and subcontractors

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will bring:
  • 10+ years of civil construction experience
  • 5+ years in a Superintendent or senior field leadership role
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods and sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Nice to have

  • Extensive civil construction experience in field leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of underground utilities, grading, production planning, and site coordination
  • A collaborative and solutions-oriented leadership style
  • Comfort using technology, systems, reporting tools, and digital communication platforms
  • High accountability and professionalism
  • A growth-minded approach with a willingness to continuously improve
  • Local East Kootenay experience and relationships are considered a significant asset, including familiarity with:
  • Municipalities and inspectors
