About the role
- This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned real estate valuation professional to join HOOPP, one of the Canada's leading institutional real estate investment owners, developers, and fund investors.
- Reporting to the Director, Real Estate Valuation and Performance Measurement, the Senior Manager, Real Estate Valuation will serve as a trusted subject matter expert in real estate valuations across the organization.
- The Senior Manager provides valuation governance over HOOPP's $16.4 B (net) global portfolio, with oversight across all invested asset classes and geographic markets.
Responsibilities
- Develop deep expertise of HOOPP's real estate investment holdings, portfolio operations and stakeholder relationships.
- Lead a team of valuation professionals in executing the full-cycle appraisal process for the global real estate portfolio.
- Oversee reporting deliverables for the Valuation team and drive continuous improvement of reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry peers and market participants. Remain well informed of market activity, industry trends and technological products and service offerings.
- Contribute to the evolution of HOOPP's Real Estate valuation policy and play a key role in efforts to drive the consolidation, standardization, harmonization and scalability of best practices across the global portfolio.
- Support strategic initiatives to enhance process efficiency and data insights, including the implementation of AI and BI tools.
- Support the Director, Real Estate Valuation and Performance Measurement on strategic priorities and ad hoc initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry peers and market participants.
Requirements
- University degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in real estate valuation.
- Solid technical knowledge of real estate valuation methodology applicable to a global portfolio.
- Other duties as required.
- Designated valuation specialist (AACI, MRICS, MAI, etc.).
- Prior management experience leading a team and demonstrated success partnering with investment professionals.
- Highly proficient in Argus Enterprise software and strong MS Office skills.
- A service-minded problem solver with strong analytical capabilities.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness is extremely important.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities under time constraint.
- An independent proactive leader with a desire to make a difference.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of comfort in liaising with people of varying levels of seniority and navigating potentially challenging conversations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation
- The actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.
