About the role
- Pan-American Life Insurance (PALIG) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for our Accident & Health Special Markets business.
- Ideal candidates to be located in the New Orleans, LA. area for a hybrid work arrangement but other qualified candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and period-end close processes for Special Markets
- Coordinate & Partner with Third Party Partners:
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for third-party program partners
- Manage monthly data submissions and resolve accounting inquiries
- Build strong, trusted relationships to support ongoing business success
- Partner with compliance teams to coordinate audit execution
- Support due diligence efforts for new and existing programs
- Lead contact for Special markets external audits requests
- Develop & Lead a Team:
- In this role, you'll own the period-end close process, lead third-party program accounting, and play a key role in audit, reporting, and strategic partnership management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience, audit, or related field
- 1+ years of experience managing or supervising team members
- Experience leading audits and reconciling complex data
- Experience in insurance or program accounting

- Prepare any quarterly or annual reporting as needed
