About the role

  • Job Description Montgomery College has an immediate need for a full-time Energy and Sustainability Analyst at the Central Services location in Rockville, Maryland.
  • The work schedule is 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This is a Non-Bargaining, Exempt, grade 31 position.
  • For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Experience with building design simulation and ASHRAE standards.
  • Experience supporting, investigating, or integrating sustainability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts and techniques of mechanical engineering as applied to energy, utility management, sustainability, and resource conservation programs.
  • Knowledge in energy conversion, energy conservation, environmental effects and resource conservation practices.
  • Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).

Skills

  • Meet with campus facilities staff to understand operating conditions and discuss suggestions for maintenance and energy cost savings.
  • Evaluate, revise, and prepare College design guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation

  • $79,746 - $103,658 per year.
  • The maximum salary for this position is $127,571 per year.

  • Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity.
  • Participation in a Maryland State Retirement System plan (Pension or Optional Retirement Plan, depending on the position).
  • If you are already retired from the Maryland State Retirement System, you may not enroll in a Maryland State Retirement System plan at Montgomery College and may have earn​ ings restrictions, per state law.
