Responsibilities

  • Maintains the timely storage and disposal of sample solutions for the department;
  • Uses safe work practices to perform tasks;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager.

Requirements

  • High school completion or equivalent required
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 7.5 hours per day
  • Carry out all required record-keeping & documentation;
  • Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • To be eligible to work at ALS you must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa.

Nice to have

  • Some post-secondary chemistry courses preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or related field preferred.

Skills

  • Organized, highly motivated, detail-oriented;
  • Strong analytical and mechanical skills;
  • Capable of managing workflow in a time-efficient and quality-conscious manner;
  • Ability to troubleshoot as needed;
  • Quality-focused individuals;
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong MS Office skills, specifically MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
