About the role
- You will analyze, interpret, and present experimental data in group meetings.
- You will troubleshoot formulation challenges and continuously improve workflows.
- This is an onsite role based in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities
- You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (biology, analytics, chemistry, and project management) to advance programs.
- You will support early-stage formulation development and downstream processing activities, including cryoprotection, scale-up, and stability studies as needed.
- You will maintain detailed records documenting formulation activities and results.
Requirements
- You have a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with relevant academic and/or biopharma industry experience
- OR a Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 3+ years of industry experience.
- You have 2 or more years of hands-on laboratory experience specializing in LNP formulation and encapsulation of nucleic acids (mRNA, siRNA, or DNA) for in vitro and in vivo studies.
- You have are highly proficient with standard LNP characterization methods, including Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Zeta potential, and Ribogreen assays.
- You have a demonstrated level of expertise in MS Excel
- hands-on experience with statistical and data analysis software (e.g., JMP, Prism)
- You have a demonstrated level experience in the LNP field in the form of publications and/or patent filings.
- You have experience with Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) and bioconjugation chemistry is highly desirable.
- You have experience working in an FDA-regulated environment
- You have strong communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
Compensation
- The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of San Diego, CA is $89,900 - $166,900.
