About the role
- Comply with all Imerys, MSHA and Equipment Mfg Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Follow Industrial/Manufacturing safety practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain 480 volt and 4KV electrical systems; Use low and medium voltage test equipment, motor theory and maintenance.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot with PLC ladder (Allen Bradley) and HMI as needed to perform the job.
Requirements
- Candidates must meet all Electrician requirements of the job description and Medium voltage experience in manufacturing/production environment to be considered for the job.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of electricity and their applications for the operation of medium voltage substations and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and Commission VFDs and Soft Starts.
- Required to work overtime and on off shifts as needed.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Completed degree from accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Trade/Technical Degree or Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Maintenance

Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in electrical maintenance in the manufacturing industry and knowledge of medium voltage.
- Experience with diagnostics and troubleshooting of various electrical equipment and machinery, compressors, pumps, conveyors etc.
- Knowledge of NEC code.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E
- Formal Training on PLCs and VFDs
- Advanced Motor Control Troubleshooting Skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers and supervisors.
