About the role
- Playing an integral role in driving and supporting our business goals and objectives for sustainable growth, assists Port Houston departments with vendor contracting issues and procuring cost efficient goods and services.
- Oversee daily operations of the procurement process; facilitate meetings, approve purchase orders, and process solicitation-change requests, addenda, and change orders
- Review and expedite issuance of purchase orders (POs) and contracts for new orders
Responsibilities
- Manage execution of daily solicitation review and related documentation through the procurement life cycle
- Create and write solicitation specifications for competitive bids and proposals
- Ensure contract-related documents are accurate, error free, and protect the best interests of Port Houston
- Construct, interpret, and enforcement of solicitation related documents and processes
- Develop proposed ways to improve solicitation related documents
- Maintain electronic and hard copies of all contract-related documents
- Lead internal project activities, such as audits, updating process and procedures, and other special projects
- Create procurement processes and policies

Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related major in a public or accredited private academic institution required
- Master's degree or Juris Doctorate preferred
- 5+ years of related experience in a similar role required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Certified Contract Manager preferred
