Responsibilities
- Author and review technical documents including design criteria, functional requirements, purchase specifications, operating procedures, materials evaluation reports, code reconciliations, and similar technical work scopes
- Develop and support Safety Analysis Reports (SARs) and associated technical sections Ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and regulatory alignment of all documentation
- Licensing & Regulatory Support
- Support licensing activities related to NRC regulations, including 10 CFR Part 71 (Packaging and Transportation of Radioactive Material)and 10 CFR Part 70 (Domestic Licensing of Special Nuclear Material) as applicable
- Review engineering, design, and fabrication drawings for licensing compliance
- Perform regulatory gap analysis and regulatory comparison evaluations
- Support development of licensing strategies and documentation packages
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand system designs, materials, and processes
- Ensure licensing requirements are incorporated into design, fabrication, and testing activities
- Support evaluation of design changes for licensing impact
Requirements
- As required assist in hazard identification, accident sequence evaluation, and identification of Items Relied on for Safety (IROFS)
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field
- 3-5 years of experience in a technical engineering role within a regulated or industrial environment
