About the role

The Dock Hand is responsible for supporting all boathouse services and operations by ensuring guest safety, maintaining dock cleanliness and organization, providing excellent customer service, and assisting guests safely in and out of boats.
This role requires strong teamwork, attention to safety, and a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.

Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager.

Ability to stand and move for extended periods throughout the workday.
This is a part-time, seasonal position, and all staff must be available to work at least one weekend day as well as summer holidays.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and coworkers.
Ability to recognize problems and communicate them promptly to management.
Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device (PFD) while on duty.
CPR/First Aid Certification required (training available upon hire).

Maintaining a safe environment at the boating area, following appropriate procedures and guidelines.
Keep a lookout on the water
Rinsing / washing rental equipment
Boathouse maintenance such as cleaning, weeding, removing trash, organizing, and ordering supplies.
Provide excellent customer service to guests, while directing customer issues to supervisor or unit manager.
Provide First Aid & CPR to guests if needed
Assist with securing company property, boats, and equipment at opening and closing.
Any other duties required or requested by your Supervisor or Manager.

We are open 7 days a week.
Assist with docking of boats and safely help customers on and off rental equipment.
Issue receipts, refunds, credit, or change due to customers accurately.
