About the role

Responsibilities
- Deliver expert technical support to data center services and operations teams, defining mechanical system design requirements for multiple data center projects from inception to completion.
- Develop, implement, and manage the mechanical designs at the site level, starting from the basis of design through to the issuance of construction documents for new builds, infrastructure upgrades, and renovations.
- Collaborate effectively with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to respond to site-specific engineering Requests for Information (RFI) and ensure alignment between Google's requirements and the overall design.
- Coordinate with the core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during the development of the Basis of Design (BOD) and coordinate system-level schematics with the EOR.
- Manage site-level power system issues during projects execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve challenges effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
- 5 years of experience in design, construction and commissioning of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and mechanical distribution systems, including air and water side systems.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time as required.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or other relevant fields, or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- 5 years of experience with mission critical facilities and data centers (multi-tenant facilities or build-to-suit single tenant facilities) in design or construction with project/engineering management.
- Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
- Understanding of start up/commissioning processes.

Compensation
- US: $144000 - $209000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
