About the role
- The Histotechnician - Lab is responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic diagnosis through grossing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- This position demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality to ensure precise diagnostic results.
- This is a Second Shift position: Either 2 pm -10 pm or 3 pm - 11 pm Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Maintain laboratory equipment in optimal condition, monitor functionality, and promptly report issues or deviations to laboratory management for resolution.
- Provide assistance with additional laboratory tasks to support workflow and operational needs.
Requirements
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Occasionally required to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.
Skills
- A minimum of two year of experience in an anatomic pathology laboratory in a relevant setting.
- Hands on Experience working in a lab environment.
- Familiarity of laboratory equipment and proper equipment maintenance
- Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
